Mission

USTA/Mid-Atlantic Section is seeking a Seasonal Part-time Event Staff to assist USTA Mid-Atlantic staff in the administration and execution of competitive events such as tournaments or Jr. Team Tennis/Adult League championships within the Mid-Atlantic Section. This position will work cohesively with all USTA/MAS employees and will aid in providing players and individuals in attendance with a superior, service-oriented experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in administration and execution of competitive tennis events in the Mid-Atlantic Section to include:
  • Event Staff will work in one of the following areas: Tournament Desk, Court Monitor or Floater.
  • Enthusiastically greet and direct guests while performing assigned tasks (i.e., answering tournament questions, providing directions, sending out matches, taking scores, selling merchandise, etc.)
  • Provide tournament players and guest with accurate event and venue information.
  • Ensure facility policies and procedures are being enforced.
  • Identify and respond to emergencies according to protocols set forth by Tournament Director.
  • Proactively address any issues or complaints with guidance from section staff.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver a high-quality event.
  • Reporting and data entry in connection with Tennis Connect service.
  • Other duties as assigned by Tournament Director in the organization and implementation of Championships and/or tournaments.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Complete required SafeSport Training and ensure it is updated yearly.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

   Excellent communicator: Someone who is skilled at and loves keeping everyone informed about what is going on and can do so succinctly, clearly, and compellingly. This includes written and verbal communication.

  Minimum qualifications: On court tennis experience and strong knowledge of tennis required. Must live in the Mid-Atlantic Section of Maryland, DC, Virginia, WV. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full vaccination against COVID-19 required as condition of employment.  Seasonal Part-Time Event Staff Position FAQs

   How many hours does this position work? The schedule for this position is evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position is seasonal and part-time which is 20 hours or less per week.

   How much does this position pay? Position is non-exempt and paid $16.10 per hour.
